Project: Related Services Consultations
We are looking for experienced Related Service Providers to share their knowledge and professional experience with the Goalbook. [[easy, valuable, important, frictionless]]
What do we look for in a Consultant?
1. Understand who we are, what we do, and why we do it.
Make sure you’ve read the About Us page. That will tell you what we consider to be the effective instructional practices and frameworks we want to share with the educators who use our products.
2. Be ready to describe the most impactful elements of your work with students.
When given instructional resources for certain skills (e.g., reading, behavior, independent living skills), can you identify barriers that a student might face and provide effective, research-based strategies to overcome them? How do you help other educators to successfully provide accommodations and modifications for students on your caseload? Can you describe specific examples of successful implementation of strategies? Do you have any additional resources that help with implementation (e.g., graphic organizers, task analyses)?
3. We prioritize effectiveness and best-practice, not originality.
We are looking for actual instructional supports that worked, not hype. We seek to highlight established best practices and recognize that they may not be "new" or "original." We believe that just because a practice is new or unique, doesn't mean that it is effective or better. Also, just because something is established and well-known doesn't mean it is ineffective or outdated.
